Manager Interview:

How you define yourself as manager?
I don’t know. The riders are the best persons to define me. I try to have a good financial balance in order to provide the riders the best conditions to be competitive on races. I try to give the riders the races that suits to their skills or their personal goals. So, I try to be normal manager.

What is your prefer type of races?
As manager I love see my riders in Grand Tours (Tour, Giro, Vuelta) and in CDM races.

As manager what is your personal goal this season?
I try to have a good number of riders on the team in order we could be collective competitive. But it’s not easy, for many questions. I hope we can get the budget at the final of the season to keep our equipment on top level. Most important I try the riders enjoy their time in EFAPEL and want to stay on the team.

What is your personal goals career?
The first one is achieved. I create EFAPEL, start from the bottom and we achieve D1. That was made thankful to several riders that help a lot the team and accept to ride in EFAPEL with low salaries. I’m thankful to all of them. Present goal is have a good group of riders, no matter if in D1 or D2 or lower, that enjoy the game and the team.

What's your feeling about ride in Division 1?
Is very hard for teams with riders bellow 30 years age. It’s very frustrating not get good results (most of times end out of points) and keep training and play the game. But, it’s very motivated keep trying to improve and face the adversities without quit. This rider’s show great character facing frustration when they can be an easy life, with glorious victories in lowers divisions.

In your opinion who's the strong team in D1? Why?
There are two teams that are in a level very high, HTR and HAS. I think the both are equivalent in potential and it will be interesting watching all season.

Looking to D2, D3, D4, what teams do you think will be "sharks" in the future? Why?
There are several excellent teams and managers but I think the new giant in the future will be oVni with an experienced manager and experienced young riders.

What do you think about manage EFAPEL, small team in D1?
It’s a great pleasure to me see EFAPEL it’s still alive and active besides my enormous and disastrous mistakes. But this team always show it was resilient. I believe that in normal circumstances we will be more competitive in the future.

Who is your reference rider/team (real world)?
I love Etix Quick Step team. Love see how they race, giving liberty for riders and some races and race tactically and collectively in other races. Love several riders but Peter Sagan, for is spirit not because of the victories, it’s a rider that I enjoy see racing.

Do you have any VI reference rider?
I have several riders as reference but I need to say that Aman Dengux have a special place for me. He was in EFAPEL since the beginning, never leave the team even in bad times caused by me, and keep train and try his best in D1 facing the frustration of results. But generally, all EFAPEL riders founders are my references.
